My friend brought paints to entertain her little one during swim team this morning and shared with Connor and Catie. This was their first time painting and they LOVED it!

The kids did an aquathon at swim team today - they swam 50 meters and ran 1/4 mile. They did a great job! Abbie fell and scraped her knee and had a run in with a bee but still came barreling in to the finish line. I was checking on her when Spencer came in so I didn't get a pictures. Sorry bud. Great job guys!

Saying goodbye (actually, see you in a few weeks at the wedding) to Jaron and Ashton. It was so fun to have them here! We can't wait to have Ashton in the family. The kids loved having them here and hopefully didn't overwhelm them too much with their excitement and clinging. We had lots of late(LATE!) night talks that were fabulous and now we all need to sleep for 3 days to catch up. See you in UT in August!

Saturday was a beautiful day on the beach! Nice cloud cover so we didn't all burn and perfectly warm and calm.

Quick road trip!

We took a little overnight trip to Myrtle Beach with Jaron and Ashton. We wish we could have stayed longer - it was so fun!

Abbie couldn't get enough wave jumping with Uncle Jaron and Ashton - they were troopers to play for so long.

Holy cow! Feeling a little old today. 16 years ago I went on my first date with Kurt and the rest is history. I have spend half of my life in love with Kurt and I am even more in love with him today than ever. I had a fabulous day! Delicious breakfast, swim team, lunch with Kurt, Discovery Place with the kids, swimming in the afternoon, dinner out with Kurt, Jaron and Ashton. The kids of course are always so excited and were so thoughtful with their gifts. Love you guys - thanks for a great birthday!

We drove home from DC today via Charlottesville and drove by our old house, the business school and the campus of beautiful University of Virginia.

Session at the DC temple, relaxing and playing, Todd and Kurt in spandex bike riding, reunion awards and family dance. Great end to a FABULOUS week!

Swimming, BBQ and Party!

The guys went to the driving range this morning and watched the USA vs. Slovenia world cup soccer game. The ladies went to lunch and shopping! We all went swimming at a friend of the Hardy's house this afternoon. The highlight was the splash contest. We barbecued for dinner and celebrated Mindy's 30th birthday! Fun day!

Planes and s'mores

We went to the Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian museum today and it was super cool. We saw a SR-71 Blackbird, a Space shuttle, the Enola Gay and so many other sweet planes. It was a very fun place to visit! Spencer went with Rob and Kim to the Capital and other museums on the mall.

We made s'mores for dessert tonight and they were tasty!

Virginia countryside and family talent show

Super fun day driving through the countryside and visiting a state park. Picnic, bocce ball and ultimate frisbee with a stop at a great ice cream place on the way home.


Family talent show - yes, I pulled out the old clogging moves and wowed the whole family with my skills. Aly, Michelle and I performed "Sisters" from White Christmas.

It was so fun to meet lots of friends today at the park for a picnic and playing! The most memorable part of the outing was when we couldn't find Spencer and his friend Jacob for about 45 minutes. The last place they were seen was by the woods so there were about 6 moms searching and lots of kids getting worried when we couldn't find them. Just about the time when I was starting to get really worried, they wandered back. They weren't sure what all the fuss was about because they knew exactly where they were the whole time. The problem was that WE didn't know where they were. They found a neat trail and took a walk to the end and back and had a fabulous time doing it. Don't worry - we had a nice long talk about checking in with Mom before doing things like that again!

Last day of SCHOOL!

Today at the fourth quarter awards assembly Sydney and Spencer got awards for being on the "A" Honor roll again! Great job guys! We are sure proud of you!

Sydney got an award for being on the "A" Honor Roll for the entire year!!! Actually, her teacher messed up and announced that she was on the "AB" honor roll during the assembly. Sydney and I were pretty sure she had all A's so we asked Mrs. Poling to double check. I went home and immediately checked and we were right, all A's! Mrs. Poling called me about 5 minutes later to apologize because Sydney was indeed on the "A" Honor Roll. Mistakes happen but it is always a little disappointing when they happen to you.

Spencer got an award for being on the "AB" Honor roll for the entire year. Great job bud! His only B was in reading in the 3rd quarter when he failed to turn in 2 assignments. Hopefully he has learned the lesson early that not being responsible has consequences.
